This image is a vintage 1930 large letter postcard of Yosemite National Park. Postcards such as this from the 1930s are commonly referred to as linen postcards, because of the high rag content used to produce them. The colors are bright and the designs are an art deco style. The Curt Teich Company of Chicago introduced linen postcards and published most of the large letter postcards from that period. Staff artists designed the large letter images using different views from a specific location to create the letters. Large letter postcard images have enjoyed a recent revival in collecting interest, in part because they were used by the USPS for a series of stamp designs.
